All around the world there are stories and legends of supernatural creatures such as witches, faeries, and vampires, but rarely do humans ever go looking for these creatures. Little do they know that the very beings they spend their childhood dreaming about could very well be living right down the street. Despite the vast amount of supernatural creatures that live in the human world, there is a whole other world, parallel to earth, called Attaria. The two worlds are separated by a large barrier with various access points across the globe; however, the easiest point of access is located in the United States, in Lawrence, Kansas, which takes you straight to the center of Attaria, just outside of the Academy of Magic.
Like all humans, supernatural beings of all races must complete at least four years of school to learn how to control their powers. Though there are several schools for the supernatural in both the human world and Attaria, such as Hogawarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry in England. Ten years ago, the Supernatural Council of the United States decided to build the largest supernatural academy in Attaria, in which all kinds of anthropomorphic creatures could study. It wasn't long before the school, the Academy of Magic, gained a reputation throughout the supernatural world due to the collision of both light and dark creatures. Though there are several rules that forbid fighting between the different races in order to focus on education, it's hard not to follow your instincts when your roommate could very well be your enemy.
